Dr. Stacy Tomas
Oklahoma State University

Stacy Tomas is a leading expert on agritourism in the United States.  She is a faculty member of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Oklahoma State University and regularly advises nature-based tourism and agritourism entrepreneurs. She is especially skilled at addressing the practical concerns and issues that concern entrepreneurs. Stacy has more than 15 years’ experience working with small businesses, landowners, farmers, communities and the tourism industry to develop and promote sustainable tourism in rural areas as a means for community and economic development.

The Lavender Creative

What’s up your creative lavender sleeve? Show us! Bring your most creative lavender products sold by your business to demonstrate your creativity and distinctiveness. We’ll display your products for all to see and select the ‘most creative’ by the end of the conference day. Bring one sample of your product to the conference and leave it with the staff at the check-in desk. Be sure to place a tag on it with your farm name so we can return it to you.

RECIPE EXCHANGE

Let's Get Cooking

Bring your favorite lavender recipes to share! We want to see what culinary madness you have cooking so we can all benefit. Just email you’re your recipe to Wynne Wright (wrigh325@msu.edu) and she will compile them into a digital format so all can share. Send your recipe (non-PDF) in a Word document. Deadline to be included in the recipe collective is Feb 26.

2023 Annual Photo Competition

We all know lavender farming is hard, and sometimes, dirty work…but the rewards of the beauty can’t be beat. It’s that time of the year again when we get to bask in the beauty of your lavender farm. Share a photo of the beauty you have cultivated with us by entering the 2023 annual photo competition. All you have to do is to send a photo of your farm to wrigh325@msu.edu by Feb 26th. We’ll do the rest. Be sure you send your name, farm name, and address so they can be labeled correctly.

This year our meeting will be held at the James B Henry Center for Executive Development. The Henry Center has served as Michigan State University’s primary home for professional and executive education for over 20 years. The Center has established itself within the educational meetings market as an expert in meeting technology and provides abundant resources to deliver a quality experience. It is adjacent to the Candlewood Suites Hotel which make parking and maneuvering seamless.

With its modern rooms and ample square space, Candlewood Suites is an excellent choice for lodging while in Lansing. Parking is complimentary, and guests will enjoy their rooms being only minutes from the Henry Center which is next door. $95 per night is the rate for a studio suite and $135 for a one bedroom suite.
